HERE'S THE SECRET: READ OUT LOUD! • Reading a story aloud can bring it to life in a whole new way! Try doing this as you enjoy the tales in your fabulous new magazine…

THE WAGTAIL AND THE RAINBOW • The Dreaming was a time of magic and wonder. Spirits wandered across the land of Australia, and animals, birds and even beetles could talk!

STOOM THE TROUBLEMAKER • Vuul and Regen were nothing alike. In fact, it would be hard to imagine two more different people!

MARY'S MAGIC NEEDLE • Little Mary was on her way to ballet class when it happened. She was hurrying down a corridor and a door swung open. Inside the room, a woman was teaching a tap-dancing class.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT…

JACK AND JILL'S ANIMAL CREW • The weather was hot – really, really hot. So hot that Jack and Jill felt as if they were in an oven.

THE DINOSAUR KEEPER • The ferry's engine spluttered as the craft crossed the wide brown river. Looking around, Janice saw that both banks were covered with thick green jungle.

FABULOUS FOSSILS • Dinosaurs like T. rex and Stegosaurus aren't around anymore – but some traces of them are preserved as fossils.

A PURPLE PROBLEM! • “Will! The postman came, and he left a letter for you!” That was his mother, calling from downstairs.

DYES AND COLOURS HISTORICAL DYE FACTS! • People have been dyeing their clothes and other fabrics for thousands of years.

THE KITE AND THE WILD HORSE • As the sun peeked over the horizon, the birds in the trees greeted the new day.

THE GIANT'S HEART • In a land far to the north, there was once a kingdom whose name is now forgotten. It was ruled by a king who had seven sons. All were strong, brave and kind, and the ruler loved them all equally.

STORYTIME PLAYBOX • Find all the dinosaurs, mix colours to make new shades, create your own rainbow and complete a clever dot-to-dot!
